Dr. William Havlicek has over 30 years of experience in college teaching, museum administration, publishing and fine art/studio production and exhibition. He holds a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University and is a graduate of the University of Iowa with both Masters of Arts and Masters of Fine Arts Degrees. He currently teaches at the Laguna College of Art + Design in Laguna Beach, California.

His military experiences as a psychiatric technician included a study of psychology and art therapy. With combined strengths in art history, studio art, aesthetics, philosophy, psychology, art therapy, museum education and publishing, he brings a broad range of experience to the classroom. He is recognized in his field as an innovative instructor, practicing artist, lecturer and writer. His experience in writing and publishing includes Associate Publisher for an international magazine as well as producing regular articles on art and art history. As a practicing artist, Havlicek has merited important commissions and exhibitions of his work in galleries and museums in the United States and abroad. Dr. Havlicek is the author of the highly acclaimed book Van Gogh’s Untold Journey.

Michael L. Jacques, BFA, MFA, is an established artist, teacher, and Admissions Advisor at the Laguna College of Art & Design (LCAD) in Laguna Beach, California. As a painter, Michael combines oils and acrylics on panels and canvas. His master printmaking skills (intaglio), a result of his excellent free-form drawing skills, have won many prizes, as have his paintings. His works are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian National Collection of Fine Art, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.

For 20 years, Michael exhibited his paintings in the celebrated Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, an annually held summer show in conjunction with the historical Pageant of the Masters. In 2014, he attracted much attention and accolades for his whimsical wire sculptures. Michael Jacques has published two books to much acclaim: Images of Age, and The Blue Rabbit & Other Dog Affairs.
